Run a Marathon in Just ONE Month!

It seems like one of those lines you’d hear in a late-night infomercial, doesn’t it?

But WAIT!  There’s MORE!

The gals at Joggermom– a website that encourages mothers who like to run by having all the info (and deals and steals) on jogging strollers– hosts a Virtual Marathon in May.

Participants have one month– May 1st – 31st– to run a cumulative 26.2 miles.  When you break it down that way, it’s *under* a mile a day.  That’s totally doable!

You know I’m a fan of any program that takes a big goal and breaks it down into manageable workouts.  You also know I’m a big fan of virtual workout  communities as a way to stay motivated and accountable.  This virtual marathon offers participants the opportunity to safely and steadily exercise while achieving a personal goal shared by a community.

The Joggermom Virtual Marathon has a support network for its participants, cool prizes, and discounts to the supporting businesses.  You’ll also receive a weekly newsletter with information about popular running topics and a playlist to help you pass those miles.  And the cost of participation for the month is under 12 bucks.

If you’ve been looking for a way to build consistency in your running, the Joggermom Virtual Marathon is a fun way to get you motivated and moving toward a goal.

Check it out!

Disclosure time: The fine ladies at Joggermom asked me to blog about this event in exchange for a free entry.  I’m not so motivated by 12 bucks that I’d write about something if I didn’t believe in it anyway, but I thought I should let you know.
