Steeling Myself for Summer

Tomorrow is The Bear’s final day of Kindergarten.  How did that happen?  It’s been a fantastic year, and I’m sad to see it come to an end for many reasons.  The thought of summer stretching out before us is alternately exciting and terrifying.

The husband and I decided that we’d let The Bear choose a restaurant for dinner tomorrow night as an end-of-school-year treat.  I’m going to guess we’ll wind up at the Austin original, Chuy’s, as that’s The Bear’s favorite.  He’s already requested a trip to the Rock’n River water park in Round Rock on Thursday morning while The Monkey is at MDO.  Friday night we’ll head out to Broadway Across America’s production of “Annie” at Bass, a special mama-and-son night out.  I think that’s a pretty good way to kick off the summer!

We have our annual trip to Cape Cod to visit Nonna and Dado in late June and early July.  We’re heading out to California for a vacation with my family at Yosemite National Park

Otherwise, there’s a week of half-day camp here and there for The Bear and twice-weekly MDO for The Monkey.  And lots and lots of swimming!
